Just so you know...you are undermining your own disciplinary measures when you say something like...
"Iris Elizabeth! Get down from there!!! You might fall and crack your head open!!!.....Oh, wait. You look really cute up there, let Mommy take a picture first."
We love to go to the "water park". It gets rave reviews around here. Thought I'd post some of my favorite pics...
Iris has become my water lover....weird because in previous years she would just cry and stare.
Apparently she conducts the water movements. Clyde, oddly enough, decided to forgo his usual super hyper antics for a more relaxing time on the statues. Lucy was an "animal fairy" and had to "tend to the animals". See the concern on her face.
I'm far enough removed from the situation now that I can post pictures and joke about it. I DESPISE having my children put under anesthesia. I know that some poor kids have to have insane amounts of surgery done and their parents would probably think I was a kook, but I can't help it. I pace the floor and cry like a baby till they bring MY BABY back and I can see for my self that she pulled through.
Do I sound dramatic? I'm sure I am. I know. I have issues, but this time I was even MORE paranoid because of Lu's asthma. We had that girl pumped full of asthma meds and steroids, I'm surprised she didn't sumo wrestle the poor anesthesiologist to the ground. She did great and the results were as wonderful as they could possibly be.
So now that Mom's not shaking in her boots anymore, I thought I would show everyone how Stephen and Lucy felt during the whole experience.....
hohum *yawn* glad I have some time to read without Iris and Clyde tormenting me Yay! I get to swallow the raspberry amnesia medicine!!!! So seriously, Dad, what is up with Mom????
Lucy's asthma/allergy Dr's have all told me she doesn't need to live in a house with carpet. We've never pulled them up because we knew it would take $$$. So if you read a previous post, I was thinking about just ripping them up and not replacing them with anything even though they're just plywood. Then a darling soul (thank you D.W.) suggested painting them. We saw this as a possibility even though we seem to be the only people in the world who haven't seen this option and don't watch HGTV.
This is what our nasty-who-knows-how-old-it-is carpets looked like. This stain is very typical of the stains that were ALL OVER it. (Eeeew) They DO NOT come out with carpet cleaning! This is what our living situation looks like right now. This is all of our matresses in the play room (yep, that bright pink bed you just see the corner of is mine and Stephen's, and no, our bed is not normally bright pink) We're experimenting on our room...we've done the cleaning, filling, sanding (oh my goodness), cleaning again, priming, and two coats of paint....no polyurethane yet.
