When we went to Dad's close to Mother's Day, the girls did what they usually do, and set up a beauty salon. Here's the progression of mine and Sherry's makeovers. Unfortunately, in the final pic of Sherry, she was making a face at the girls... but you still get the idea.
Then we gave Grandmom Mother's Day cards. However, pics of her are taboo now, so this was our compromise...
Later we found this horrid spider. I was honestly too afraid of it to kill it, so we took a pic and left it alone. Then we showed it to Grandmom. We were subsequently sent out to search for it with a death warrant. Unfortunately, she (and probably her spawn) remain at large.

Meeting Benjamin
Our really good friends, Amy & Matt, recently had their 7th baby. They named him Benjamin. We had ALL been eagerly anticipating his arrival!!! So as soon as we could, we rushed over to the hospital!
Then the kids asked for permission to see how tiny his toes and fingers were. And before I could object, the Momma obliged :)
A couple days later, Stephen got to meet him.
And more, just because, Ben is so stinkin CUTE!!
We all just LOVE HIM!!!

Clyde Gets Glasses
So, recently, Stephen and I started suspecting that Clyde couldn't see very well from a distance. Thus, we took him to have his eyes examined. We were indeed correct, the boy couldn't see. But he didn't believe it. He shook his head pityingly at us, that we were naive enough to think he couldn't see just fine and would list all the things that he could see, "just how I'm supposed to see them."
A few days later, the girls and I took him to the mall to pick out his glasses. He gravitated toward blue, surprising even himself. While we waited for one of his pairs to get finished that day, we got to have an impromptu lunch with friends!!
Then we did some free advertising! You're welcome, Hallmark!!
Then we picked up the glasses, and this was his reaction when he unsuspectingly slid them on his face the first time....
He was SO excited. He actually teared up a few times and couldn't say why. When we got home, he just stood outside peering around.
And he looked just so darn handsome!!

Resurrection Sunday!
We have actually NEVER, as a married couple, attended our own church for a Resurrection service. Clyde was supposed to go on a camping trip, but due to unforeseen circumstances he and his best friend McKellan had a multi-night sleepover instead. We got him back Sunday morning.
Here's our Easter service...
Here's Clyde...PASSED OUT in his father's arms. He got very emotional when we tried to get him to stand for the first hymn, so we gave up and this happened. Only he can't scrunch up nicely in his Daddy's lap as he once was able, his legs now crossed the laps of his mother AND his sister. When he woke up, he was VERY disoriented.
Then we went to Nena's and had a lovely lunch!! Thanks Nena & Papa.
Made kids stand for a few pics...
Then the kids opened their baskets. I tried to not go overboard, but also make the gifts SOMEWHAT practical.
Then Sherry and Papa delivered them to the park where Mom, Stephen and I hid the eggs. They had to wait...ready, set, go! So glad the big ones are still willing to do this! It's never been a question, they've never asked me if they're too old, so we just keep going :)

He is Risen!!!
